Christianity is not being propagated in Somaliland, the country’s Ministry of Religion Affairs and Endowment has stated.
Sheikh Khalil Abdillahi Ahmed, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowment, denied reports indicating that the Christianity is now part of the curriculum being taught in schools.
“The allegations that we have allowed Christianity to be taught in Somaliland through a tailored curriculum are false and demonic,” Sheikh Ahmed said.
Further, he asserted that the people spreading the allegations are only interested in “sowing seeds of discord within the society.”
Sheikh Ahmed was responding to stories that have dominated the media, especially social media, in the last few days.
Consequently, he has requested the people of Somaliland to desist from sharing these “false stories” on their social media platforms.
