Civil Aviation Minister Briefed on Restoration of Somali Airlines

The federal Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation has received a briefing on the restoration of Somali Airlines.

The advisory committee in charge of evaluating the restoration of the airlines briefed Fardowsa Osman Egal on Wednesday.

The committee visited the minister at her office in Mogadishu.

Somali Airlines, which was established on March 5, 1964, ceased operations in 1991 just when the civil war broke out in the East African nation.

In its heyday, it offered domestic and international services.

The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has been trying to revive the fallen airlines.

Egal received briefings from the advisory committee based on the recommendations they had gathered from various quarters and the plan they have for reviving the airlines.
