Clashes between Somaliland military and local militants entered the second day today.
The latest round of clashes broke out on Saturday.
Reports indicate that the fighting took place just on the outskirts of the clash-ridden Las Anod city.
The clashes broke out hot on the heels of the recent accusation against Somaliland forces by traditional elders.
The elders accused Somaliland of indiscriminate heavy shelling of the city.
They added that the shelling left buildings, schools, morgues, and hospitals damaged extensively.
However, Somaliland accused Puntland-led allied forces of initiating the latest round of clashes.
It added that Puntland led friendly forces in attacking Somaliland troops.
This move forced Somaliland to respond in kind.
