Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hassan Sheikh Ali, emphasized the importance of constitutional consultations with citizens, stating that public input is essential for shaping the constitution.
He highlighted that involving the people in the process ensures that the constitution reflects the will and needs of the Somali citizens, thereby fostering greater legitimacy and ownership of the nation’s foundational legal framework.
Ali urged members of public not to take a backseat. Instead, he called on them to be at the forefront in writing a constitution that suits all Somalis.
This approach aligns with the broader goal of creating a more inclusive and democratic governance system in Somalia.
