Consumer Price Inflation in March Surged 5.86% in Somalia

Consumer price inflation in Somalia surged by 5.86 percent in March.

The Somali National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS) announced this in its latest report on consumer price index (CPI).

SNBS published the latest CPI report on Tuesday.

It rose from the 5.65 percent that was reported in February 2024.

According to SNBS, the monthly rise of consumer price inflation is the result of increased demand for clothing and footwear, which was quite significant in the holy month of Ramadan.

The demand for services at restaurants and hotels also helped the inflation to rise in March.
