The United Kingdom has released £2.75 million to support security forces in Somalia.
According to the UK Embassy in Mogadishu, the funds would be released to the security forces through the trust fund managed by the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS).
Through the funds, the security forces are guaranteed non-lethal support.
The UK seeks to equip the security forces with the support that they require to proceed with the ongoing offensives against Al-Shabaab.
Non-lethal support includes shelter, assist medevac, communication equipment, and rations.
