COVID-19 deaths in Somalia continue drawing nearer to 1,000 after the Ministry of Health reported 15 new fatalities.
Currently, the tally of fatalities stands at 953.
While updating the country on the latest COVID-19 numbers, the health ministry also reported 194 fresh cases of the deadly disease from 3,205 samples tested in the last 72 hours.
The health ministry issued these latest figures on August 28.
In its updates, the ministry reported that 65 of the cases were from Banadir, 60 from Puntland, 29 from Somaliland. Galmudug, Jubaland, and Southwest had 21, 18, and one cases respectively.
Seventy-four patients had recovered from the disease by Saturday to bring the recoveries to 8,286.
