The Committee to Protect Journalists Africa (CPJ Africa) has demanded the immediate release of Mohamed Abdiwahab Nuur, a Somali journalist.
Nuur has been in government custody for the last 100 days.
According to CPJ Africa, the government arrested him on allegations of murder. Secondly, the government also accuses Nuur of being a member of the Al-Shabaab militia.
However, CPJ Africa insists that the government is yet to provide evidence in court to support their allegations.
Consequently, the organization that fights for the protection of journalists demands his immediate release.
Nuur has been in custody for over three months. In much of that time, his family, colleagues, and lawyers have not been informed of his whereabouts.
