Pavel Mikes, the Czech Ambassador to Ethiopia, traveled to Somaliland for a meeting with President Muse Bihi Abdi.
Mikes met Bihi at the Presidential Palace in Hargeisa on Tuesday, December 1.
During their meeting, the leaders discussed ways of initiating formal ties between Somaliland and the Czech Republic.
In the meantime, they agreed to cooperation in different sectors.
Soon, Somaliland and the Czech Republic would be cooperating on trade, technical education, and travel.
Bihi reminded Ambassador Mikes that Somaliland remains an attractive destination for investors due to its stability.
He also commended the Czech Republic for seeking to establish strong bilateral ties with Somalia’s breakaway region.
President Bihi told Ambassador Mikes that government and people of Somaliland work together admirably, a situation he hopes would hasten the pursuit for international recognition.
