Mohamed Aden Dahir has emerged victorious in elections held for the House of the People’s HOP#135 seat.
Elections were repeated after the constituency lost its sitting Member of Parliament (MP) in a terror attack last month.
Amina Abdi Mohamed, the incumbent, lost her life during an attack by Al-Shabaab militants in April.
Consequently, the local State Elections Implementation Team (SEIT) ordered repeat polls today.
The polls took place on May 6.
Dahir finished first ahead of his two closest challengers – Amran Hussein Isaq and Mohamed Nur Hussein.
