DANAB Forces, a unit of specially trained soldiers within the Somali National Army (SNA), destroyed Al-Shabaab hideouts in Lower Shabelle.
The special unit forces destroyed the hideouts during a military operation carried out in the region on Tuesday, December 14.
During the operation, the special forces also killed several Al-Shabaab militants.
The operation took place in many Lower Shabelle villages.
These villages included Jame’o, Dinlawe, Sham, and Dhin-garas.
Different security agencies have been conducting similar operations in various parts of the country to eradicate Al-Shabaab fighters.
In the last few weeks and months, Al-Shabaab militants have increased their attacks around the country.
Somalia is currently holding parliamentary elections.
