Danab Special Forces killed 13 Al-Shabaab militants in an operation carried out in Lower Juba.
Danab, comprising specially trained Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers, undertook the successful operation on Wednesday.
Commander Ahmed Abdullahi Nur confirmed this development to the media.
Nur is the Commander of the 16th Battalion of Danab Commandos.
He added that the specially trained soldiers recovered seven AK47 rifles during the operation. The forces seized an RPG too.
