The Minister of Defense visited Beledweyne with the Somali National Army (SNA) chief on Sunday, August 21.
Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, the defense minister, joined General Odawa Yusuf Rageh in visiting Beledweyne.
Beledweyne is the provincial capital of the Hiiran region, HirShabelle.
During the visit, the two government leaders met and held discussions with several SNA commanders.
They also spoke with African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) commanders.
Nur and Gen. Rageh were brought up to speed on the ongoing counterterrorism operations in Beledweyne and the surrounding areas.
