An African Union delegation led by Gen. Cheick Dembele and Dr. Donald Kaberuka arrived in Mogadishu on Tuesday for a one-day visit.
Gen. Dembele is the Head of AU’s Peace Support Operations Division (PSOD).
Similarly, Dr. Kaberuka is the AU High Representative for the organization’s AU Peace Funds
The delegation held discussions with Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, senior AU Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) officials, and international partners.
The talks focused on resource mobilization for the upcoming AU Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) mission and the follow-on ATMIS mission, highlighting the AU’s continued efforts to support peace and security in Somalia.
