Delegation of Kenyan Officials Visit Somaliland for Bilateral Talks

A delegation comprising top government officials from Kenya visited Hargeisa for bilateral talks with their counterparts in Somaliland.

Junet Mohamed, Minority Leader in the National Assembly, led the Kenyan delegation, which arrived at the Hargeisa airport on Thursday.

President Musa Bihi Abdi of Somaliland welcomed the Kenyan delegation in his office. The delegation comprised politicians, Members of Parliament (MPs), and investors.

According to Junet Mohamed, the Kenyans are in Somaliland as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.

Kenyan representatives are expected to discuss various issues that include cooperation, politics, and trade with their colleagues from Somaliland.

The Somaliland representative to Kenya, Bashe Awil Omar, stressed the need for boosting bilateral trade between the two East African nations.

He said that his country imports most of its agricultural products from countries in the Middle East. Interestingly, he said the Middle Eastern countries get those products from Kenya.
