Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni briefed a visiting United States military commander on ongoing counterterrorism operations in the regional state.
Deni met with Col. Ed Norris of the US Special Operations Command in East Africa earlier today in Bosaso.
Primarily, their discussions revolved around security matters with special emphasis on Puntland Counter-Terrorism Operations (PCTO) Force.
President Deni expressed gratitude to the support that the US government has been providing in the regional state in the form of airstrikes against terrorists.
In recent weeks, US and other international partners have joined hands with Puntland forces and local militia to launch targeted attacks against ISIS bases in Al-Miskad Mountains.
