Galmudug’s President Said Abdullahi Deni inaugurated a new football stadium in Awale, Galkayo.
President Deni declared the newly built Awale Stadium on September 9 in a colorful ceremony attended by senior officials of his administration and officers from the local authority.
Local residents also turned out for the event in their numbers.
Deni commended his government and the local residents for working together to make the project a reality.
Further, in his address to the spectators, President Deni hailed the benefits that local communities have received around the country since Somalia adopted a federal system.
Deni also vowed to continue implementing policies that allow his administration to provide the people of Galmudug with quality healthcare and public education.
He advised the locals to expect more recreational centers in the region.
