Said Abdullahi Deni has been re-elected the President of the regional state of Puntland.
Deni, who vied against several other candidates, emerged victorious in elections held on Monday in Garowe.
Sixty-six local legislators were responsible for electing the new President and Vice President of Puntland.
Initially, Puntland was to carry out one-person-one-vote (1P1V) elections.
However, Deni gave into the demands of the opposition and other stakeholders to agree to the indirect polls.
