President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland says he has no confidence in the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
Deni stated that the lack of confidence in President Mohamed Farmaajo’s administration is unlikely to stop the second round of the Dhusamareb talks though.
President Deni indicated that Farmaajo is to blame for destroying the confidence that Somalis had in his leadership when the first Dhusamareb talks were taking place.
He mentioned that Farmaajo’s actions in the aftermath of the talks had cost him.
Previously, Deni had described the removal of Hassan Ali Khaire as the country’s Prime Minister by the House of Representatives as an “illegal and dishonest” act.
Last week he issued a statement saying Khaire’s ouster was an attempt by Farmaajo to extend his term in office.
Deni made these statements while leading the celebrations commemorating Puntland’s 22nd Anniversary.
He asked the federal government to stop reneging on its word to avoid leading the country into a period of political unrest, which could prove too costly.
