The Human Rights Day 2024 event in Mogadishu brought together Somali government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Abdisalam Ali, on Tuesday.
It also featured representatives from the United Nations, the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), and various civil society organizations.
Centered around the theme “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now,” the celebration emphasized the importance of safeguarding human rights as a cornerstone for Somalia’s progress.
Discussions highlighted efforts to promote inclusivity, accountability, and justice, underscoring Somalia’s ongoing commitment to human rights in collaboration with international and local stakeholders.
