Sheikh Hussein Osman, who is the Hiiraan regional deputy commissioner of the social services department, said that the concerned department had provided a specific health facility to handle the diarrhea cases to avoid the further spread.
his happened in November 2019, when a diarrhea outbreak was reported in Hiiraan region where Beledweyne referral hospital managed to admit 75 patients in a span of two days. The outbreak was reported to have been caused by the flooding of the Shebelle river.
“The administration had arranged a special vehicle that brings patients to the health centers from far villages,” said Sheikh Hussein Osman.
There is increased demand of supply of medical help to assist Beledweyne referral hospital handling the further spread of the outbreak.
