Direct flights from Mogadishu to El-Wak in Jubbaland have been launched.
Legislators representing Jubbaland at the federal parliament boarded the plane from the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu to the El-Wak airport.
For years, there have been no direct flights between Mogadishu and El-Wak.
Legislators from the Senate (Upper House) and House of the People (Lower House) were among the first to board the plane that made its maiden trip to El-Wak.
