Djibouti has presented its candidate for the elections for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson.
On Tuesday, Djibouti announced that its candidate for next year’s AUC elections will be Mahamoud Ali Youssouf.
Youssouf, the Djiboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to vie against Kenya’s Raila Odinga and Somalia’s Fawzia Yusuf Adam.
Recently, the AU clarified that the chairperson’s seat will be strictly for nations from the East Africa region.
