Donors have pledged up to $1.39 billion to respond to the ongoing drought in the Horn of Africa region.
Countries in the region have been hit hard by the ongoing drought.
The countries include Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
Consequently, they are likely to be among the biggest beneficiaries of the funds, which would mostly address the humanitarian crisis.
Estimates from international organizations reveal that close to 15 million people in the region face severe food insecurity.
Moreover, they also require urgent humanitarian assistance.
