Donors have received a timely update on the new strategy that African Development Bank (AfDB) has developed for Somalia.
AfDB’s management briefed several donors on the new strategy on May 8.
Some of the donors at the meeting included European Union Delegation to Somalia, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, and the High Commission for India.
Others were United States Agency for International Development and the United Kingdom Department for International Development.
Representatives from the Finnish, Danish and French embassies in Somalia attended the briefing as well.
Gabriel Negatu, AfDB’s Director-General for the Eastern Africa Regional Center, briefed the donors.
According to Negatu, AfDB plans to align the new strategy to Somalia’s National Development Plan for 2017-2019.
