Dr. Hajiadam Hailed for Briefing WHA77 on Somalia’s Health Priorities

Dr. Ali Hajiadam has been hailed for briefing the 77th World Health Assembly (WHA) on the health priorities of Somalia.

Dr. Hajiadam, who has been in Geneva attending the WHA77, briefed his colleagues from around the world on some of the priorities of the Ministry of Health in Somalia.

Hanan Balkhy, the Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO), commended Dr. Hajiadam.

Balkhy expressed gratitude to Dr. Hajiadam for trusting WHO to help transform the health system in the East African nation.

Some of the priorities Dr. Hajiadam cited include immunization, data innovation, maternal and child healthcare, as well as the development of local medicines.

Balkhy assured Dr. Hajiadam that WHO would not hesitate to help build the capacity of the health workforce in Somalia.
