The Ministry of Education is to provide financial grants to 616 primary schools in Somalia.
The ministry announced this on November 26.
According to the education ministry, the grants are available courtesy of a partnership that it has with the Global Partnership for Education (GPE).
GPE has made US$25.9 million available to the education ministry.
The funds are designed to support the enrolment of more than 25,000 children who are currently out of school despite attaining school-going age.
The 616 primary schools that will benefit from this project are spread around the country.
