Egypt and Somalia have expressed their commitment to increase bilateral trade to $100 million within the next three years.
This decision comes following a series of meetings between officials from both nations in the recent days.
Further, both nations aim to strengthen their economic ties and enhance cooperation in key sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, infrastructure, and healthcare.
The goal is to significantly boost trade volumes, given the historical and diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Egypt sees Somalia as a strategic partner in the Horn of Africa, while Somalia values Egypt’s support for its unity, territorial integrity, and development initiatives.
Both governments are expected to outline specific projects and agreements to achieve this trade target, focusing on mutual economic benefits and regional stability.
