Egypt is prepared to stand in solidarity with Somalia in the wake of the threat of breached sovereignty by Ethiopia.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi assured his Somali counterpart President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of his country’s support against Ethiopia.
In a televised press briefing, El-Sisi said that Egypt would not sit back and allow threats that compromise or jeopardize Somalia’s sovereignty to thrive.
The two were speaking in Egypt where the Somali President is currently on an official visit.
Both of them spoke to the media from the presidential palace.
“As a member of the Arab League, we are ready to defend any Arab country that faces aggression on its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” assured President El-Sisi.
