Egypt to Offer More University Scholarships to Somali Students

The Egyptian government has announced plans to offer more university scholarships to students from Somalia.

Tarek Shawky, Egypt’s Minister of Education, announced this on August 18.

Shawky’s announcement took place in the background of Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble’s official visit to Cairo, Egypt.

Somalia’s Minister of Education, Abdullahi Abukar Haji, accompanied Roble to Egypt.

He held a meeting with Shawky on Wednesday.

During the meeting between the two education ministers, the news of increased scholarship to Somali students emerged.

Haji extended his appreciation to the government of Egypt for the announcement.

He also welcomed the scholarship that’s set to benefit more students from Somalia.

Prime Minister Roble is currently on a two-day official visit to Egypt at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
