Egypt has vowed that it would not allow any threat against Somalia to stand.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt issued this promise on Sunday during his meeting with Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Cairo.
His vow came in the same week that Egypt supported Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Egypt’s promise refers to the recent diplomatic row between Somalia and Ethiopia.
Several top Egyptian government officials were at the meeting. They included Lt. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Zaki and Maj. Gen. Abbas Kamel.
Maj. Gen. Kamel is the Head of the General Intelligence Service.
