Egypt has reaffirmed its commitment to support the ongoing counterterrorism measures in Somalia.
Sameh Shoukry, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, issued this assurance during his meeting with Abshir Omar Jama Huruse.
Huruse, the Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs, is currently in Cairo on an official visit.
Shoukry and Huruse discussed several other issues too.
They spoke about the importance of strengthening cooperation and bilateral ties between Somalia and Egypt.
The Egyptian minister assured his Somali counterpart of his government’s support in confronting the effects of drought in the East African nation.
