An elder has rejected the decision by the Federal Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee to validate Yasin Farey’s electoral victory in the HOP#67 constituency.
Farey is the Acting Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo appointed him to that seat after Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble sacked its previous occupant – Fahad Yasin.
On December 16, Ali Hassan Ali rejected not only Farey’s electoral win but also the decision by the dispute resolution committee to validate his election.
Ali said that he is the legitimate elder of the HOP#67 constituency.
Farey’s election has not gone down well with many stakeholders in the region and around the country.
Those opposing his electoral victory say that Farey won courtesy of rigging, fraud, and lack of fairness.
