Electoral Commission Encourages Matabaan Residents to Register Amid Voter Roll Opening

MATABAAN — The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially called upon residents of the Matabaan District to actively participate in its newly launched voter registration initiative.

Securing Official Voting Cards

According to an official statement, the electoral commission is urgently urging all eligible individuals to register and secure their voter registration certificates. Officials clarified that these initial certificates are a mandatory prerequisite for citizens to later obtain their official voting cards for Election Day.

“Citizens residing in Matabaan district must register and acquire their voter registration certificate to receive their official voting card,” the commission emphasized in its public address.

Advancing National Democratic Participation

This localized registration effort is described as a critical component of broader national strategies aimed at significantly enhancing democratic involvement. It aligns directly with ongoing institutional efforts, such as the recent launch of similar INEBC voter registration drives in Jalalaqsi, to ensure transparent and accessible electoral procedures across Somalia.

Additionally, the commission has strongly advised all Matabaan residents to promptly visit established registration centers. Citizens are urged to verify that their personal details are entered correctly into the system before the official conclusion of the registration period to guarantee their eligibility to vote.
