The Emir of Qatar has expressed solidarity with Somalia over the deadly terror attack carried out in Mogadishu on Friday last week.
Emir Tamim Bin Hamad of Qatar expressed solidarity with Somalia during a conversation with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud via telephone on August 22.
Mogadishu was the scene of one of the most shocking terrorist attacks of recent times on Friday, August 19.
The Hayat Hotel, one of the most popular hotels in Mogadishu, came under heavy attack from Al-Shabaab militants.
According to the health ministry, 21 people lost their lives in the attack. Most of them were civilians.
Emir Hamad expressed his condolences to President Mohamud and the people of Somalia.
He condemned the “heinous terrorist attack” in the strongest terms possible.
The Emir of Qatar assured President Mohamud that his government is ready to assist Somalis injured in the attack who need advanced medical treatment.
The Somali government had already assured those injured severely in the terror attack that they would be flown outside the country for advanced treatment.
