Environment Minister Says Somalia is Ready to Protect its Sovereignty Using Any Means Possible

The State Minister for Environment says that Somalia is prepared to protect its sovereignty using any means possible.

Environment Minister Adam Aw Hirsi said this during an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Somali Service.

During the interview, which was on Monday, Hirsi informed the world that Somalia has everything at its disposal to prevent any aggression against its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

His utterances were in reference to the deal that Ethiopia and Somaliland signed on January 1, 2024.

In that deal, Ethiopia would recognize Somaliland’s independence while the latter would provide the former with direct access to and control of 20km of its coastline.

Hirsi informed the BBC Somali Service that the country had the physical and legal resources required to defend itself against external aggression.
