Ethiopia Hits Bakool with Airstrikes

Ethiopia has hit Bakool region in Somalia with multiple airstrikes.

The Ethiopian government deployed its warplanes to Bakool on Saturday, July 30. The airstrikes could be a possible retaliation to the recent attacks by Al-Shabaab militants in the region.

Ethiopian warplanes hit Garasweyne, which is in the hands of Al-Shabaab militants.

Multiple sources revealed that an innocent mother was critically injured as the airstrikes bombarded Garasweyne.

It is not clear how long the airstrikes by the Ethiopian forces in Bakool would continue.

Ethiopia is yet to issue any official statement on its airstrikes.

President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen of the Southwest region, where Bakool is, has not spoken about Saturday’s events either.
