Ethiopia secured direct access to one of Somaliland’s seaports purely for economic reasons.
Tesfaye Yetayeh, the Ethiopian Ambassador to Israel, said this on Friday.
He added that the benefits accruing from the direct access to the Somaliland port would be for the entire region and beyond.
Amb. Yetayeh added that Ethiopia would not give up on the deal signed with Somaliland.
There have been calls from leaders of other countries around the world for the cancelation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Somaliland and Ethiopia.
