Ethiopian Forces repulsed an attack by Al-Shabaab at their base in southern Somalia.
The Ethiopian National Defence Forces (ENDF) that came under attack are not part of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
Al-Shabaab militants attacked their base on Wednesday.
Reports from the region indicate that terrorists attacked the base using two vehicles.
The first vehicle exploded just outside the base.
However, quick response by the Ethiopian forces prevented the second car from reaching the military base.
Four Ethiopian soldiers were injured when the first vehicle, a Toyota Surf Hilux, exploded.
The second vehicle was a Suzuki SUV.
The Ethiopians are part of a massive regional force involved in the second phase of counterterrorism offensives in Somalia.
They join their fellow soldiers from Kenya, Somalia, and Djibouti in the offensives.
