Ethiopian forces have reportedly started collecting taxes in Gedo, a region in Somalia’s Jubbaland regional state.
Local residents complained to a section of the press on this interesting development on Wednesday.
Gedo is home to one of the largest population of Ethiopian forces who are not part of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
Many non-ATMIS forces from Ethiopia are stationed in several Gedo towns.
