Ambassador Saed Abdilahi Jibril has reported to Hargeisa as the new Ethiopian Representative to Somaliland.
Jibril landed at Egal Airport in Hargeisa on Sunday.
Senior officials from Somaliland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation were at the airport to welcome Jibril to the country.
Reports indicate that Jibril is scheduled to assume his duties immediately at the offices of Ethiopia’s Representative to Somaliland.
Jibril replaces Ambassador Shamsudin Ahmed Roble who has not been in office for quite some time despite the Hargeisa office remaining open.
Ambassador Jibril leaves his role as the Deputy Chancellor at Hargeisa University to take up new responsibilities as a diplomat.
