EU in Joint Initiative with IOM to Construct Latrines in Bossaso

The European Union (EU) has launched a joint initiative with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to construct latrines in Bossaso.

The initiative is part of the measures the two organizations have put in place to improve access to water in Somalia.

Migrants in the East African nation face huge challenges accessing quality water and proper sanitation services.

Through the EU-IOM joint venture, migrants in Bossaso would have access to properly-built latrines and clean water for drinking and other uses.

Furthermore, access to proper sanitation and clean water is crucial in fighting diseases such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
