The European Union (EU) has partnered with Somaliland Durable Solutions Consortium (SDSC) to donate a consignment of medical supplies to supplement the country’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
EU has already collaborated with SDSC on several other projects. However, it opted to partner with the organization to deliver essential medical supplies to seven health facilities in Somaliland, including Burao General Hospital.
The consignment consisted heavy-duty gloves, facemasks, hand sanitizers, clean gloves, face shields, liquid anti-bacterial soap, sodium hydrochloride solution, gowns, protective goggles, and snap sack sprayers.
The handing over ceremony took place virtually. Among those who attended it were the EU Ambassador to Somaliland Nicolas Berlanga-Martinez, Omer Ali Abdilahi Bade, the Minister for Health and Development, and a Representative of the World Vision Director.
