The European Union (EU) delegation in Somalia has urged local leaders to “make joint efforts” to conclude the parliamentary elections.
February 25 was the initial deadline for holding elections for House of the People seats.
However, a recent meeting of the National Consultative Council (NCC) agreed to push the deadline to March 15.
On Friday, the EU Delegation in Somalia urged politicians to work hard to allow the country to conclude parliamentary elections.
Further, the EU officials encouraged Somali leaders to ensure that the electoral process is not only credible but also transparent and peaceful.
