Officials from the European Union Capacity Building Mission (EUCAP) in Somalia have trained Somali Police Force (SPF) officers.
The training was specifically for SPF’s Maritime Police Unit.
The training kicked off on Tuesday, July 12.
EUCAP hopes that the maritime officers would learn how to enhance maritime security. Other aspects of the training include coastguard, inspections, and search and rescue.
Moreover, the Somali maritime officers would also improve their knowledge of counter-smuggling and trafficking.
