The European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM-S), in partnership with the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF), has successfully wrapped up the Green Shield I/25 exercise at the General Dhagabadan Training Center (GDTC).
The exercise was a success thanks to the joint efforts of other stakeholders such as the Army’s Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), and the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
This high-level Live Exercise (LIVEX) featured direct participation by SNAF forces and aimed to sharpen rapid response to potential threats, enhance force protection, and improve coordination in complex attack scenarios.
These included simulated Improvised Explosive Device (IED) strikes followed by Indirect Fire (IDF) attacks and casualty management under pressure.
Officials praised the joint training as a key step in boosting operational readiness and interoperability among Somali and international security partners.
