Ex-Finance Minister in Somalia Joins Somaliland Opposition Ahead of November Elections

A former Minister of Finance in the Somali government, Abdirahman Du’ale Beileh, has joined the opposition in Somaliland ahead of the region’s November elections.

This move is significant, as Beileh is one of Somaliland’s most prominent political figures.

After serving in Somalia’s federal government, Beileh returned to Somaliland following an amnesty granted by President Muse Bihi Abdi, which allowed him to reintegrate into local politics.

Beileh has been a central figure in the opposition, bringing both his experience and influence to the political landscape in Somaliland as it prepares for a highly anticipated election.

Together with other prominent politicians, Beileh joined Waddani Party, whose presidential candidate is Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro.

Beileh described Irro as the only presidential candidate capable of saving the country and bringing about meaningful change.
