A former leader of the regional state of HirShabelle held discussions with the United States Ambassador to Somalia.
The discussions between Mohamed Abdi Ware and Ambassador Larry Andre took place on Monday, November 21.
Ex-HirShabelle President Ware expressed gratitude to Ambassador Andre for the support the US Embassy has given Somalia’s war on terrorism.
Specifically, he mentioned the training that the US has extended to Danab, a special unit of elite soldiers under the Somali National Army (SNA).
Ware said that they also exchanged ideas on what it would take for Somalia to enjoy long-term success where the war against Al-Shabaab terrorists is concerned.
