A former manager of Kismayo Port lost his life in a deadly shootout involving Jubbaland regional forces and officers from the presidential guard.
Awil Ali Barre was among three people killed in the deadly shootout on January 24 in Kismayo.
According to witnesses, the shootout started when presidential guards attempted to force their way into the road.
Barre was traveling back to his house when he encountered the shootout that eventually snatched his life.
The shootout took place at a security checkpoint just near his house.
A statement issued by the Jubbaland administration said that investigations have been launched to determine the events leading up to his death.
