A former deputy director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has accused the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) of sending Somali soldiers to fight in Ethiopian.
Abdisalam Guled made the claims on January 18, 2021.
Although he never provided any evidence, the ex-NISA deputy chief sensationally said that 370 Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers have been killed in Ethiopia while fighting Tigray rebels.
Guled stated that the government had ferried the soldiers into Ethiopia secretly.
The Somali soldiers were in Tigray to help Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) fight against Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF).
He claimed that Somalia had lost more soldiers in the Tigray fight than Ethiopia.
Furthermore, Guled stated that the Somali soldiers killed in Ethiopia were all aged between 20 and 30 years old.
